On the Road Again

On the Road Again

The Beginning

The Beginning
It all began as we deeked out of Hal's opening at the first opportunity - we were raring to get going on our first leg of the journey - getting off the rock and below the border.

Joanne and John, Lissa and Graham

Joanne and John, Lissa and Graham
We headed to Jackson Wyoming to stay a couple of nights with Joanne and John and the kids. Had a great visit, walked and talked, ate and drank, and were awed by the Grand Tetons.

The Tetons

The Tetons
We never quite got the whole show, but what we did see was stunning

Bryce Canyon

Bryce Canyon
We spent a couple of days at Bryce canyon, an afternoon at Grand Canyon and part of the day at Zion. The colours and shapes are awesome

The Canyons

The Canyons
Antelope Canyon - somewhere in Arizona? This is a slot canyon that we walked thru - the shape of the rock made from flash floods raging thru.

Petroglyphs

Petroglyphs
yes, we were also archeologists - discovering ancient messages on the the walls of the canyons

Vegas

Vegas
From one extreme to another - we blew $10 on the slots and still didn't get the point - neither of us know how to play poker or craps or ....so that was the end of our gambling. We od'd on walking thru the hotels - loved the Bellagio!

The Coast - Carmel, Monterey

The Coast - Carmel, Monterey
We raced away from Vegas straight to the West Coast - white sand, fog, pelicans, eucalyptus and eventually back to sunshine blue sky days

San Francisco

San Francisco
Whew! wasn't quite ready for the size and busyness of this city - but did the nostalgic trip to the Haight...

Towards the end

Towards the end
Camped along the California Coast, walked thru the dunes, hugged a redwood, watched the trees change from eucalyptus and pine to arbutus and redwood to alder and cedar and then we were ready to go home.
